This game featured a dynamic (like in real life) economy system, prices on cars and parts depended on supply and demand, paychecks.then you auction too. Just like anything else in this game, Motor City was taking you back to the 50's, the race tracks so, you got circuit racing, street racing and drag racing, and some modes like time trial (open and sponsored), team trials and turf wars. I tell you there's no game that ever allowed you to build a car like in real life, only MCO allowed, people who played Underground and up would been lost in this game, people who built up cars like hot rods and muscle at home in real life had the knowledge to work here. cheerleader, punker rocker, rebel, fighter, gi joe, townie, jock, jockette etc and change the colors of clothes, skin, hair and add accessoires.Ībout the cars, it had over 60 american classics (and three trucks) from the 30's to 70's.Each car could be build up form ground up, and I really mean ground up - you had to know cars mechanics and measurements and units to be able to make a mean machine, you had over 2,000 authentic and licensed styling and performance parts (it was over 5,000 later) which used real statistics with units and parts were different in model, size, material, weight etc and they could get worn and lose their quality. It had the integrated Dyno2000 by MotionSoftware for all this to calculate power:weight ratio etc. You could customize your persona choosing from over 30 base models e.g. The game's design was shining in the 50's and 60's style with four music stations (a fifth for users custom tracks, disc or importing, own playlist of soudntrack etc) playing about 24 different tracks, each station was specifcated for a genre, you had Surf, Funk, Classic Rock and Oldies - it also featured hundreds of interactive traffic reports, song comments and other talk by the DJ's.You could adjust the volume and station with the tuner button on the radio which had a 50's car radio style, the station tuner had real sound effects when turning the button, you also could switch the station by clickin on the button 1-5. customizing possibilities of MCO - Underground is a babies playground compared to MCO. If you ever dreamed about a racing game which was dedicated to a very famous, historical car culture, MCO was it - there's no racing game that ever came close the e.g.

The golden age of the americana car culture I played MCO, and while EA shut it down, this game was made with love by EA, it was just the decision of the CEO from back then to focuse on Sims and Ultima cause he saw more value there than in racing games.
